Compare matte finishes by their specific reference
Two materials with similar appearance can allow different care. Ask for the product documentation and relate its instructions to the stains or tasks that concern you. The renovation of fronts must evaluate the chosen piece and its edges, avoiding attributing identical behaviour to everything that is presented as matte or deciding only on a photograph that does not allow you to check the finish in the light of your kitchen. See also: front renovation.
Look at the sample where it will be installed
Place it next to the worktop and walls, with the usual lighting and from various positions. A variation in light can change the reading of the tone or visible fingerprints. It is also advisable to identify sides and trim pieces that will retain a different finish to review the actual assembly, without assuming that the change of doors automatically includes all the surfaces that are seen when entering or sitting near the furniture.
Separate appearance and condition of the pieces
A new finish does not solve a deformed cabinet or a deteriorated fixation. Before choosing how far the work goes, check the interior and hardware. If affected units are detected, the replacement of furniture must be described separately to compare what is preserved and what changes, with their joints and assembly. This distinction allows us to assess the useful result in addition to the colour or texture that will be incorporated into the front of the kitchen. See also: furniture replacement.
